Hello darlings! I took a little break from the blog lately because I’ve been crafting my little hiney off for Livi’s upcoming birthday in April. Since I’m in “party mode”, I thought I’d share her 3rd birthday theme details with you all! I’ve been a fan of Audrey Hepburn for as long as I can remember. I’ve seen so many “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” themed parties on Pinterest, I couldn’t wait to do one for Livi. I decked out all the decor with Tiffany blue, black damask, and a little bit of bling. We cooked up a yummy brunch of breakfast foods (obviously), it all came together so elegantly. And oh my goodness, you guys.. Livi’s photo shoot that year was one of my absolute favorites. She was too precious in her black tutu, pearls and shades. I’m excited to share my twist on “Breakfast at Olivia’s”. How cute is this getup?? I die, I couldn’t stand the adorableness. She was such a little lady. I love this shot with her daddy’s reflection in those teeny tiny sunglasses. I wish I could share all of the pictures, but it would be a bit of overkill, haha. No doubt we was loving the camera that afternoon, she posed all on her own like a pro. It was a fun day! We usually do a little photo shoot around her birthdays so I can use them as decor to display around the party. This one was perfect and totally set the tone for her theme.
P A R T Y D E T A I L S:
I created this entry door hanger with the help of my hubby. He made Livi’s silhouette with Photoshop and I adore it! It’s still hanging on her bedroom door as we speak. I added the paper fans and rhinestones surrounding it to add a little more depth and fullness. Each birthday, I create different banners and garland to go along with her theme. This year, I was all about the paper fans! These were a bit time consuming, not gonna lie. Especially since they’re layered, my hands were pretty sore from all the folding. A labor of love indeed! I may do a DIY on them a little later. Now that I have a Cricut, this project would be way easier using the scoring stylis! “Happy girls are the prettiest girls” — fact! Such a sweet quote, I had to display it. “Cookie favors” for our guests are my favorite, I’ve done them for all of her birthday parties so far. Who doesn’t love fresh iced sugar cookies? I even order a few extra every year so I can eat them myself! 😉 I picked up these damask treat bags from Hobby Lobby and made “thank you” tags to tie around them with blue ribbon.
TREATS & EATS:
- Sausage & Turkey Mini Quiches
- Chocolate Chip & Banana Nut Muffins
- Strawberry & Donut Hole Skewers
- Pork & Turkey Bacon Strips
- Orange Juice & Chilled Water
Livi’s cake this year was chocolate with homemade Tiffany blue buttercream icing. No fancy decorating like I had hoped. I really wanted to do a rose effect all the way around it, but I completely ran out of time. It was still scrumptious though! These mini quiches were super tasty (and easy!), I got so many compliments on them. I bought frozen pie crusts and made two different batches with ingredients I had on hand. Bake the crusts on their own first, following the instructions on the box. For the quiches on the right, I diced and sauteed white onions mixed with boiled spinach and ground turkey. For the other batch, I mixed sauteed onions and cooked tomatoes with ground sausage. Mix each batch into raw eggs with some grated cheddar and evenly pour the mixtures into the pie crusts. I cooked them at 375 degrees on a cookie sheet for about 25 minutes (until the egg in the middle of each quiche is brown.) They were equally delish! A little something extra I wanted to customize was her “3” candle. I bought a simple one from our local grocery store — similar to this. The outside was already a light turquoise color, score! I added a variety of different sized craft rhinestones and covered them in Mod Podge. I love it and still have it in her “keepsakes” box. A view of the spread as a whole, with damask and blue balloons and paper fan garlands draped on the windows. This theme turned out exactly how I planned, I was so happy with every detail. Simple, yet classy! All the kiddos enjoyed hopping around in a bouncy house in the backyard we had rented for the weekend. This year will actually be our third time to rent one — it’s kind of become a party staple. The adults love them too, haha. Thanks for reading along, darlings! I hope I gave you all some fun party ideas. Now back to crafting for the next one! =^_^=Click the arrow to check out a video I put together of Livi’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” party!
